Strategic Sourcing in the Mid-Market Benchmark: The Echo Boom in Supply Management
|
 |

|
AberdeenGroup, in their recent report, Strategic Sourcing in the Mid-Market Benchmark: The Echo Boom in Supply Management, estimates that inadequate sourcing competencies are costing mid-size firms in the U.S. more than $134 billion in missed supply savings opportunities annually. With global economic instability and inflation on the horizon, improving sourcing competencies will be a necessity for mid-size enterprises.
Aberdeen’s study found that the typical mid-size enterprise relies on ineffective, fragmented, and largely manual procedures to analyze spending, negotiate, collaborate, and manage suppliers. Such inadequacies limit the ability of mid-size enterprises to leverage already diminutive spending volumes, assess supply market opportunities and costs, and drive continuous improvements in supply costs and performance.
Join Procuri on February 16 at 11:00 a.m. ET and listen to AberdeenGroup's Mark Vigoroso discuss the report findings and why more than half of mid-size companies have either launched initiatives to formalize and improve strategic sourcing capabilities within the past 12 months or will embark on such programs within the next year.
Also hear from a Procuri mid-market customer! Bill Schrouder, project engineer for LeChase Construction, will share best practices and valuable insights into how his organization uses Procuri TotalSource in its strategic sourcing processes. |

Would you ever buy a car based solely on price? Probably not. Just as there are many non-price factors to evaluate when buying a car, such as color, size, gas mileage, etc., the goods and services your company attains should not be sourced based on price alone.
Join Dallas Stevens, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing Services, Western Region, as he demonstrates how strategic sourcing can be used to enable the quickest and most effective route to Best Value Decision Making. He will explore the aspects of making a decision based on both price and non-price factors. Sourcing for Success

The approach of procurement and spot purchasing to obtain goods and services is burdened with too many suppliers, overuse of preferred suppliers, inefficiency and not enough competition. A heavy reliance on spot purchasing, often with little or no consideration of non-price factors, is a sure-fire way to erode the bottom line.
This presentation will demonstrate why the adoption rate of strategic sourcing solutions among manufacturers is growing rapidly by citing case studies of leading-edge companies that are using sourcing solutions with their supplier base and achieving significant cost savings and cycle time reductions. Additionally, this presentation will explain:
 |
What companies can gain from strategic sourcing solutions |

Purchasing professionals realize that chemical and pharmaceutical companies are competing in increasingly global markets with significant pricing pressures, facing unprecedented change and market restructuring, continuing economic uncertainty, and ever-increasing regulatory and social pressures. In return, chemical prices continue to rise as these companies face tight supply pressuring pricing, market uncertainty about the future costs of production and a highly volatile raw material market.
While such a volatile environment of dynamic change brings new risks and challenges, it also presents significant opportunities to create new enterprise value through strategic sourcing.
In this session, learn how purchasing professionals can take advantage of sourcing solutions to automate their sourcing processes, to institutionalize best sourcing practices and to make best-value sourcing decisions that improve bottom-line results. |

Spend Compliance Management: Implementing and Sustaining Supply Savings

In less than a decade, online sourcing automation (e-sourcing) has matured from a novel technology to a standard operating procedure for most Global 1000 enterprises. This first wave of e-Sourcing focused on savings identification, with enterprises negotiating double-digit price reductions by creating highly transparent and competitive online bidding environments. Such results caught the attention of C-level executives, many of whom publicly touted the impact e-negotiations were having on their bottom line.
However, a recent Aberdeen Group study of 125 supply management executives suggests that e-sourcing savings have been overstated and under-delivered at most enterprises. Specifically, 60% of enterprises using e-sourcing have been unable to fully implement the savings negotiated online. In fact, in the typical e-sourcing program 20% to 25% of savings negotiated online remains unrealized.
This report examines spend compliance strategies and performance in more detail. Recommendations in this report reflect the best practices of enterprises that have aligned organization, processes, technologies and measurements to help implement and sustain negotiated cost and performance savings. |
